Noise Quota
Since 2003, the noise structure has increased slightly, which can be explained with the number of flights, which has increased again.
The chart shows the noise quotas and the number of flights within the busiest six months at Hamburg Airport.
Since 1999, the structure is newly calculated every year. The result is the area, which is exposed to a permanent noise level of 62 dB(A) or more.
With 13.9 km², the noise quota of the past year is still significantly above the reference area of 20.4 km² of 1997.
In the project approval procedure, the Airport has committed itself to observe the noise quota for the apron and the terminal buildings.
If the area is larger than the reference area of 1997, the Flughafen Hamburg GmbH has to use adequate measures, so that this value will be kept again in the following year.
